X-mas decoration inspo..

Switzerland is covered in snow. So I thought I had to write today about something wintery!

Tobe honest, I can't wait to see Gregory admiring his second X-mas tree this winter. This time hopefully he'll be more aware of the creativity behind all the decoration... :-) I'm looking forward seeing his big eyes lighten up and smiling at me!

Here some Christmas decoration ideas for you in the mean time...

Rose petals and other fashion no-nos...?

Have you seen Jessica Biel's wedding dress? There seems to be a new trend regarding wedding gowns.. they must be in a light color hue...

To be honest, I like Jessicas dress, but not as a wedding dress! To me, for a wedding, the dress has to stay classic white... at all times! Simple and pure. White in all different shades is fine, but no color! If you want to add a pop of color wear bright shoes or colorful flower bouquet, but no color in the dress!

My choice might be too old-fashioned for some people, but aren't there so many other occasions to wear beautiful colors? Can't white just stay reserved for brides?

What is your opinion on the color code? Is my taste to antiquated?

Chillin' with Chilli

Yesterday I was craving some really spicy Tex-Mex food...so I went grocery shopping and decided to go for a classic "Chilli con carne".

..and let me tell you... it was sooooooo good!!

Here my recipe:

Ingredients:
1 spring onion
1 garlic
2 TS of olive oil "extra vergine"
300gr minced beef
1-2 dl red wine
1 yellow pepper
1 hot chilli
1 can red beans
1 can diced tomatoes
1 small can corn
1 cup of water
Salt & Pepper
1 bunch of parsley

Preparation:
Cut the spring onion and the garlic into small pieces. Insert the olive oil in big pan and start to sear the spring onion/garlic in the hot oil. Add the minced beef and continue searing. Meanwhile cut pepper and chilli into bite-sized pieces. Deglaze the onion/beef mix with the red wine. Let it cook for 2 minutes until the wine is almost dissolved. Now add the yellow pepper and the chilli and stir well. Rinse the beans with water and then add the beans, tomatoes and the corn into the pan. Stir and let all the ingredients cook slowly on small heat. If the fluid has completely evaporated, add some water and continue to cook it slowly and don't forget to stir it from time to time. Now season all the ingredients with salt and pepper at your preference. Before serving add the freshly diced parsley.
It's best when served with a fresh baguette!

Enjoy it...I guarantee you, you won't have any leftovers remaining! ;-)

She writes funny anecdotes about her fashion expriences and mishaps plus shares her personal hints and tips. But foremost it's easy reading after a day with my little big boy. :-)

Eating wild...

Yesterday I went out for dinner with a couple of great girls! We had a lot of fun, sipping on some bubbly and chitchatting our way through the evening...

We were in some "wild" mood and went all for game animals like deer and stag, and let me tell you...it was super yummie! :-) I especially love the side dishes, the sweet chestnuts, the red cabbage, the mushrooms, the brussels sprouts and the spaetzles... let me tell you, it was sooooo good!!!!

We went to that rather rustic and simple place called "Köchlistube" in the middle of Zurichs city center.
The servings are humungous and the prices are very decent...especially meat lovers will adore this little insider place!

For dessert we had "Vermicelles with Meringue and whipped cream"...goodness, we almost bursted after trying some of this fabulous delicacy... but it was well worth to try it! Again, we told them we wanted to share one dessert, check out the amount we got... OMG!!!

If you happen to be in the area and you are VERY VERY hungry, you definitively HAVE to go and check out this place!

I think I will need to go for a jog now, to enhance the digestion of this gluttony... ;-)
